Puppy Placement
Personal requests
We try to accommodate preferences of gender, markings, and size when placing a puppy (as much as possible); but the personality of both the new home environment and the puppy are most important in ensuring a good 'fit' and a happily ever after.
Early Socialization
We use the Puppy Headstart Program as well as Puppy Culture to ensure our puppies get a well-rounded upbringing.
Personality testing
We have an experienced dog trainer come and perform the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test at 7 weeks in order to help us ensure proper placement and let the new owners know the strengths and challenges of each pup they bring home.
ongoing training
As a breeder, we try do everything by-the-book for the first 8 weeks of a puppy's life, but the promise of a well-behaved and acclimated dog cannot be made unless the new family is committed to doing what they need to do to ensure a smooth transition.
