Guardian Program

Becoming a Guardian Family with Old Dominion Labradoodles is an exciting, and affordable, way to bring the pick-of-the-litter into your home as your FOREVER pet!

The puppy is placed with your family as your forever dog.  Our program retains breeding rights for 2-3 litters (which ends up being approximately a 4-5 year commitment).

We believe that every dog deserves to be a member of a loving, forever family.

Having a guardian program ensures that all of our breeding dogs can live the life of a pampered pet, and we are able to grow our breeding program responsibly, without the use of kennels.

Being a guardian family is an affordable way to have the highest-quality Australian Labradoodle as their very own.

• A guardian family is chosen from a list of applicants and must meet certain requirements (live within 1hr of Leesburg, VA, have a fenced yard, etc.)
• The breeder chooses the pick-of-the-litter based on gender, conformation, personality, and coat
• A $500 payment is made and the puppy is placed in the guardian's home.
• The guardian family is responsible for all routine pet expenses (vet visits, vaccines, preventatives, grooming, etc.) and feeding the dog a high-quality dog food
• The breeder is responsible for all reproductive expenses (pre-breeding testing, check-ups, etc.)
• The first breeding will be around 2 years of age.
• After the dog is bred, it will come stay with the breeder 1 week prior to the expected whelping date, and stay with the pups until they are weaned (approximately 7 weeks of age)
• The breeder retains breeding rights for 2-3 litters (approximately 4-5 years) and then the dog is spayed/neutered, and the formal "guardian" relationship ends
